WANT UPCOMING WINE TASTING ALERTS?
You don’t need a holiday as an excuse to send flowers, that’s for sure! However, holidays often beg for a little something extra or prompt us to show our friends and family some love. When that’s the case, pick out some flowers for the holidays!
Since flowers are so versatile, you can find a bouquet perfect for each holiday – romantic roses for Valentine’s Day, patriotic colors for Memorial Day, golden mums for Thanksgiving…you get the picture. However, sometimes finding the perfect flowers can be a bit of a challenge. That’s why we’ve put together a floral holiday calendar to introduce you to some of the best holidays for giving flowers.
New Year’s Day
January 1
After you’ve tossed aside the challenges of the past year and toasted to what’s ahead, a bouquet of fresh flowers will help you ring in the new year. While any flower will sing out celebration, mums bring the message of good luck.
Valentine’s Day
February 14
Whether you send a bouquet of roses to your sweetheart or send some flowers to your parents to show your love, flowers are the perfect way to celebrate this special occasion. Red roses are a top choice to gift on Valentine’s Day, since they symbolize romance and love. However, you can also send a colorful bouquet to everyone you love, including friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
International Women’s Day
March 8
While women have come a long way, they still face a fair number of challenges. To let the women in your life know you recognize and appreciate them, send some flowers their way.
St. Patrick’s Day
March 17
While you can spend hours fruitlessly searching for a single four-leaf clover, you can order lucky St. Patrick’s Day flowers with a single click! To stick with the holiday’s colors, opt for an arrangement rich in greenery and studded with hints of gold.
National Flower Day
March 21
While this is one of the lesser-known spring holidays, we think it’s just as important as the others! Even if the weather outside is still a bit too cold to plant beloved flowers like snapdragons and zinnias, you can use this day as an excuse to brighten up your day with a bouquet.
Easter and Passover
April 9, 2023; March 31, 2024
As a symbol of rebirth and life, it’s no surprise that Easter is one the major flower holidays. Not only that, but Easter is typically celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon falling on or after the vernal equinox (a.k.a. the first day of spring). Did you ever wonder why Easter Sunday is on a different Sunday every year? That’s why! While Easter lilies and spring bulbs like hyacinths, tulips, and daffodils are traditional holiday flowers, you can also send one of our spring flower bouquets.
Earth Day
April 22
As the world begins to green and flowers start to bloom, Earth Day reminds us to cherish all nature has to offer. And what reminds us of Earth’s beauty more than flowers?! Along with brightening your home with a responsibly sourced bouquet, you can also celebrate this day by planting some flowers in your garden.
Administrative Professionals Day
April 26, 2023; April 24, 2023
Without the help of administrative professionals, our workplaces would fall apart. If there’s one day to remind these people of the beauty they bring forth, it’s admin professionals’ day. Send them a thoughtfully crafted flower arrangement to symbolize their organizational skills and other talents.
Mother’s Day
May 14, 2023; May 12, 2024
Unsurprisingly, Mother’s Day is one of the major floral holidays. After all, what mom doesn’t love a nice bundle of flowers (and of course some quality time spent with her children)? So this Mother’s Day, be sure to send your mom some flowers – and don’t forget to give her a call! The most popular flowers to give to moms on Mother’s Day are daisies, tulips, roses, and lilies. No matter what type of flower you have your eye on, remember to order early for the best selection.
Memorial Day
May 29, 2023; May 27, 2024
As a day set aside to recognize those who sacrificed their lives for our country, Memorial Day is one of the most popular holidays for graveside flowers. Red, white, and blue flowers are a popular option to take with you when you visit gravesites.
Father’s Day
June 18, 2023; June 16, 2024
Don’t think flowers are just for moms! Sending your dad a bouquet will let him know how much he’s guided your growth. If you think your Dad won’t love cut flowers, you can also opt for a suave potted plant.
International Friendship Day
July 30
There’s no doubt we’d be lost without our friends – they laugh with us, listen to our worries, and encourage us to pursue our dreams. So send them a bouquet as a token of your appreciation! While yellow flowers are the classic friendship flower, you can also mix it up with your pal’s favorite blooms.
Labor Day
September 4, 2023; September 2, 2024
Since Labor Day traditionally recognizes the contributions and achievements of workers (and the advancement of workers’ rights), this is a great time to send flowers to workers who make your day a bit easier. Drop a bouquet off at the post office, send an arrangement to hospital workers, and order some flowers to treat yourself.
Grandparents Day
September 10, 2023; September 8, 2024
While grandparents dote on their grandchildren without much thought, their kindness and care often goes unrecognized. Grandparents Day is the time to change that! Send some holiday flowers to let your grandparents know how much you appreciate them.
Rosh Hashanah
September 15 – 17, 2023; October 2 – 4, 2024
While Rosh Hashanah might be more famous for apples and honey, sending flowers for Rosh Hashanah is a great way to show a family that you care. Some popular options include sunflowers, lilies, and hydrangeas.
Boss’s Day
October 16
If you’re lucky enough to have a boss that listens to your needs and provides you with sound advice, don’t pass up on this opportunity to show your appreciation. While a bouquet of flowers is a nice addition to their workplace, you can also surprise them with an orchid or other potted plant.
Sweetest Day
October 21, 2023; October 19, 2024
While it’s most often celebrated in the Midwest, everyone could benefit from the little acts of kindness that go along with Sweetest Day. One way to show some sweetness is by sending a bright bouquet to your elderly neighbor, work mentor, or anyone else who could use some cheer.
Halloween
October 31
While witches, ghouls, and ghosts often get a spooky rap, these frightening creatures like flowers too! To keep with the holiday theme, look for purple and orange blooms. And if you’re looking for a creative way to display your flowers, try nestling a vase inside a pumpkin.
Veterans Day
November 11
While Memorial Day recognizes service members who gave their lives, Veterans Day reminds us to thank the service men and women still among us. Consider sending a bouquet to a veteran in your life or delivering some flowers to your local veterans organization.
Thanksgiving
November 23, 2023; November 28, 2024
Whether you’re celebrating with a few close friends or getting together with the whole extended family, Thanksgiving is a day to enjoy quality time with those we love. To make this occasion even more special, order a bouquet of mums or a flower-filled cornucopia.
Christmas
December 25
Since Christmas is a time to give and celebrate with loved ones, flowers fit right in! Some popular Christmas flowers include red amaryllis, white lilies, and red roses. However, one flower takes the cake: the poinsettia. Poinsettias are a Christmastime favorite, but not everyone knows the story behind this gift. A Mexican legend tells of a little girl, Pepita, who did not have a gift to bring the baby Jesus at the Christmas Eve church service – so she picked a bunch of weeds off the side of the road. When she placed the weeds at the bottom of the nativity scene, they grew into the big, beautiful red blooms we know and love.
Hanukkah

Hanukkah flowers make up the second half of the winter holiday flower sales. Think about it: Hanukkah is celebrated for eight days and nights. That’s a lot of celebrating, which calls for a lot of flowers! Hanukkah is known as the Festival of Lights, so it’s popular to give out white flowers,
